kdoenix is a funbot, created in mid 2000 by mark and Mrten for the then popular channel #krezip to extend the functionality of the existing bot ZoB. It is an Eggdrop, extended by a few custom TCL scripts.

kdoenix's features include a !seen function, 8ball, !google, some fun commands that reply with a random text and a !country code script. Furthermore, it keeps track of channel statistics of all channels it is in.

In the early years, kdoenix was quite popular and present in many (dutch speaking) channels on CyGa.Net. In some period of time, kdoenix was accompanied by a similar bot called kzegnix, to handle the load and circumvent the maximum number of channels a single user can be in.

Later, active maintenance on the bot ceased, especially when both Mrten and mark became opers on CyGa.Net. As of today, the bot still exists and is kept running for the few channels that still want its presence, but no enhancements are made anymore.

Although its use is now discouraged, people can still send requests to kdoenix@nedworks.org to have the bot join their channel.
