Pasted password

First of all, don't panic!

Now, if you have just pasted your nick password you are going to have to act quickly. If no one has yet ghosted you, type

/ns id your-password

and then

/ns set password new-password-here

If you did get ghosted then as quick as you can do an

/ns sendpass your-nick

which will send you an auth code and allow you to get the nick back.

If both the nick password and the nick email have already been changed, the nick is lost, you need to inform services admins as soon as possible. Without being opered whoever that has your nick will not be able to cause any damage, but you may have lost your nick permanently. If this happens to users we often can't give them their nick back because there is no way to prove that the nicks were not exchanged voluntarily.

If you have pasted the content of your o:line into IRC then this is not usually a cause for too much concern as all Blitzed servers have crypted o:line passwords. Simply change your password, or ask your admin to do so.

If you pasted the cleartext version of your password then this is slightly more worrying. No one will be able to use it without matching one of the hostmasks you have set, but depending on how strict you or your admin was in adding them, that might be easy to achieve. Try to edit the ircd.conf as soon as possible. This is an emergency situation which is worth waking your admin or some other admin for.
