Forgotten password
From Blitzed
Blitzed uses a sendpass system. What this means is, anyone can request that any other user's password be emailed to the address on record for that user. This is the only means by which users can retrieve their password. The passwords are stored in a hashed format so not even Blitzed staff can discover the true password.
Initial use of the sendpass command will send an authorization code to the user by email. If the user follows the instructions in that email, a new password will be set and emailed to them.
Users can choose to disable sendpass for them personally, via the
/ns set sendpass off
NickServ option. However, if they do this and then lose their password, their nick/channel is probably lost too.
If the user claims to have left an old or incorrect email address set then they also cannot be helped - it is the user's responsiblity to keep their email address setting up to date. Obvious typos such as leaving extra [] or <> around the address can be fixed by any services admin, however.
The command to sendpass a nickname is
/ns sendpass target-nickname
The corresponding channel sendpass is
/cs sendpass #target-channel
