Blitzed does not have or need a BotServ.

BotServ is typically used on other networks to have a services "bot" join your channel. The bot keeps the channel open and often can accept typical ChanServ commands in the channel.

[edit] Why Blitzed doesn't have one

Blitzed would have one if it could be demonstrated that they are actually needed for anything besides "look, we have a kewlz0r bot in our channel!!!!" factor.

People can't gain ops in registered channels just by joining them, so a BotServ client does not protect your channel.

ChanServ can accept the full range of commands by /msg, so you don't need to have a BotServ client in your channel for that.

but it makes my channel stay on the list and in existence! -- yes, your channel that has no one in it but a BotServ bot, so there is no point in doing this either.

What's more, all channel traffic would then go via our services which just uses more of our resources for no actual point.

Hopefully these are ample reasons why we do not have a BotServ.
