Bans, kills and K: lines
From Blitzed
There are several reasons you could have been banned, killed or K:Lined. In this document, we try to explain what you can do about it.
A few definitions first: being banned means being thrown out of a channel and prevented from re-entering. Being killed means being forcefully disconnected from the network, and being K: lined means you are prevented from connecting to the network at all.

[edit] Banned from a channel
If you've been banned from a channel, this is really a problem for you to sort out with the channel's owner or ops. Blitzed staff will not normally get involved in this sort of dispute - only in exceptional circumstances. "So don't come running."
[edit] Killed for flooding Blitzed
This happens when you "flood" anywhere on the network, ie. say several lines in a very short period of time. If this is the case, you'll see a message in the following style:
20:09 Closing Link: iflooded@1234.C.diet.cola.net (Oh tin of pink meat / Must we enclue you firmly? / You are not Noah.)
Everyone in the channels you are in will see:
20:09 * FlooderNick (iflooded@1234.C.diet.cola.net) Quit (Oh tin of pink meat / Must we enclue you firmly? / You are not Noah.)
You will normally be able to rejoin the network immediately after being killed in this way, although if a staff member sees it happening a lot, you will be K: lined.
[edit] Killed for another reason on Blitzed
If you're killed for any other reason, it's normally as a warning. You'll see a message similar to the following as you get disconnected:
20:07 *** You have been killed by some_oper ((Oper impersonation))
Everyone else on the channels you are in will see:
20:07 * LaMeR (~andy@203.56.139.100) Quit (Killed (some_oper (Oper impersonation)))
You will normally be able to rejoin the network immediately after being killed, but make sure you heed the warning.
[edit] K: lined by Blitzed OPM (BOPM)
You may have been K: lined on Blitzed or many other networks by BOPM. This means you have an open proxy running on your machine.
If this is the case, please either remove yourself using the instructions given when you were K: lined, or (if none were given) contact opm@lists.blitzed.org. Do not email the Web team, as you will only be told to email the open proxy team or ignored.
[edit] K: lined on Blitzed
If you've been K: lined, you won't be able to connect at all. To sort this problem out, you must write to kline@blitzed.org with reasons why you should be allowed back on.
Please note that we are unable to help if you have been K: lined on another network like Undernet or Quakenet. To resolve this issue, you will need to contact the network in question.
